What is Wonkaā Éditions?

WONKAĀ ÉDITIONS: DEMOCRATIZING CONTEMPORARY ART AND REINVENTING COLLECTING

WONKAĀ Éditions, initiated by Paul William, co-founder of Nil Gallery (2016) and founder of MAĀT Gallery (2023) in Paris, reimagines access to contemporary art. Its ambition is simple: to make collecting less intimidating and more engaging, while offering a unique experience for first-time collectors. Positioned as an open gateway to art, WONKAĀ Éditions stands in contrast to the often codified and exclusive world of traditional galleries.

A SIMPLE AND EXCITING CONCEPT

An artist creates an original artwork. From this original, a premium edition of 100 signed and numbered silkscreen prints is produced. One collector, selected by draw, receives the original artwork. Each purchase offers both a high-quality edition and a one-in-a-hundred chance of winning the “golden ticket”, granting access to the original artwork itself.

FOR WHOM?

WONKAĀ Éditions addresses a wide audience:

New collectors beginning their journey into contemporary art; informed enthusiasts expanding their collections; experienced collectors drawn to innovative ways of engaging with artists and collecting.

A GROWING COMMUNITY

At an accessible price point, the model allows a broader audience to engage with contemporary art while multiplying visibility for artists: 100 collectors become ambassadors for their work.

Beyond acquisition itself, WONKAĀ Éditions fosters meaningful connections between artists and collectors through meetings with artists, invitations to exhibition openings, and access to exclusive content.

Beginning in 2027, each edition will include a blockchain-based certificate of authenticity. A percentage of all future resales will automatically be redistributed to the artist, helping ensure fair compensation over time on the secondary market.
